Rear Coolant Pipes, 4-Zone Climate Control, Removing And Installing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

Removal

Proceed as follows:

-- On a vehicle with air suspension, activate vehicle lift mode, refer to VEHICLE LIFT MODE .

WARNING:

Risk of scalding due to hot steam and hot coolant.

  • The coolant system is under pressure when the engine is warm.
  • Reduce pressure by covering coolant reservoir cap with a cloth and carefully opening.

-- Open the coolant reservoir cap.

-- Remove the bolts and rear noise insulation -2-.

-- Place the Shop Crane - Drip TrayVAS6208 under the engine.

-- Remove the bolts -1- and -2-.

-- Clamp off the coolant hoses with Hose Clamps - Up To 40mm3093.

-- Remove rear coolant pipes from coolant hoses -arrows-.

NOTE:

The illustration shows location with automatic transmission.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Fill the coolant, refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .
