Gas-Filled Strut, Removing And Installing

  1. Gas-Filled Strut
    • Open and support the rear lid when removing.
    • Using screwdriver, lift retaining spring -2- as shown and remove gas-filled strut -1- from upper ball stud -3-.
      NOTE:

      After completely removing gas-filled strut, ensure correct position when installing.

      Noise insulation component must be installed on the body side.

      Installation is reverse of removal, noting the following:

      -- To install, press gas-filled strut onto ball head pins so that it engages in position.

      -- Ball stud tightening specification: 20 Nm

  2. Retaining Spring
    • To remove, pull gas-filled strut off with small screwdriver. Refer to Fig 2.
  3. Ball Stud
    • Tightening specification: 20 Nm
  4. Rear Lid

-- Remove retaining spring -2- with small screwdriver -1- and disengage gas-filled strut -3-, that can finally be removed from ball stud.
