Hood, Removing And Installing
- Hood
- Disconnect line to windshield washer system and unclip line.
- A second technician is needed to help support and lift the hood.
- Remove the gas-filled strut -4- from the hood -1-.
- Remove nuts -6-.
- Remove the hood.
- Installing:
- Install in reverse order of removal.
- Adjusting:
- Align the hood -1- with the fenders.
- Adjust front height of hood at hood lock.
- Hood can be adjusted for height relative to fenders by adjusting the stop buffers.
- Panel gap dimension. Refer to HOOD, ADJUSTING .
- Hook
- Cap nuts
- Tightening specification: 11 Nm
- Gas-Filled Strut
- Removing and Installing. Refer to GAS-FILLED STRUT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Ball Stud
- Tightening specification: 14 Nm
- Hex Nuts
- Tightening specification: 21 Nm
- Hex Head Bolts
- Tightening specification: 21 Nm
- Rear Lid Hinge
- To remove, hood -1- must be removed or propped up securely.
-- It is necessary to remove the hood -1- or make sure it is supported safely before removing the hinge -2-.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and nuts -4-.
-- Tighten hex screw to 21 Nm when installing.
-- Tighten hex nut to 21 Nm when installing.
When installing, first insert cover tab -1- in square hole.
-- Engage top of cover, turn lightly and allow tab to engage in direction of arrow at bottom of hinge -2-.
-- Remove the cap nuts -3- and remove the catch -2-.
-- When installing, tighten the cap nuts -3- on the hood -1- to 11 Nm.
-- Disengage the hood release cable. Refer to HOOD RELEASE CABLE OVERVIEW .
-- Remove bolts -3- (quantity: 3). Tightening specification 11 Nm.
-- Remove lower part of lock -2- from lock carrier -1-.
-- Move the lower part of the lock up or down to adjust the height of the hood.
- To remove, remove trim -2- with clamps -3- from hood in steps.
