-- If the control module was replaced, select the "Replace" function for the respective control module in "Guided Fault Finding" or "Guided Functions" Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.

Removal

4-/5-seater:

-- Remove luggage compartment left and right side trim, refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the luggage compartment floor -1- upward in direction of -arrows-.

6-/7-seater:

-- Remove luggage compartment right side trim, refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove luggage compartment floor covering -1- upward in direction of -arrows-.

Vehicles with Control Module Bracket:

-- Release retaining clips in direction of -arrows- and pivot Towing Recognition Control Module -J345- item -1- out of bracket.

-- Disconnect the connectors -2- and -3-.

-- Remove Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module -J401-, refer to Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module -J401-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove air suspension.

-- Remove bolt -4- and nuts -2- and -6-.

-- Using a long wrench -5-, remove nut -1- at rear of control module bracket -3-.

-- Remove control module bracket.

All Vehicles:

-- Detach relays or control modules and then unclip appropriate plug-in socket.

-- Release retaining clips -arrows- and press fuse panels -1, 2, 4- back out of relay and fuse panel.

-- Remove the nuts -3- and -5- and then remove the relay and fuse panel.

Vehicles without Bracket for Control Modules:

-- Remove nut -6-.

All Vehicles:

-- Remove nut -4- and remove retaining frame -5- slightly to side.

-- If present, remove screws -1- and -2- and remove control module -3-.

-- Remove retaining frame with control modules and lay it aside with electrical wiring connected.

-- Release retaining clips -2- and remove Parking Aid Control Module -J446- item -1- from retaining frame in direction of -arrow-.

-- Disconnect electrical connectors -3 to 5-.

Installation

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Install control module retaining frame, refer to Navigation System with CD Drive Control Module -J401-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install relay and fuse panel in luggage compartment, refer to RELAY AND FUSE PANELS INSIDE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT ON RIGHT SIDE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install luggage compartment side trim, refer to LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT SIDE TRIM PANEL OVERVIEW .
