Right Seal, Replacing
Special tools and workshop equipment required
- Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit SMN372500
- Puller - Seal Lever VW681
- Seal Installer - Flange Seal T40189
Procedure
Clean working conditions for the automatic transmission, refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
General repair instructions, refer to GENERAL REPAIR INFORMATION .
-- Place the Used Oil Collection and Extraction Unit SMN372500 under the transmission.
-- Remove the right flange shaft, refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the right flange shaft seal.
-- Coat the outer circumference of the new shaft seal with axle oil.
- Installed position: The open side of the shaft seal faces the transmission.
-- Drive on in new shaft seal as far as stop. When doing this, do not bend the shaft seal or install it on an angle.
-- Install the right flange shaft, refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Add axle oil to the transmission after repair, refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING, FRONT FINAL DRIVE .
