Rear Flange Shaft Ball Bearing

Special tools and workshop equipment required 

• Thrust Plate VW 401
• Thrust Plate VW 402
• Punch VW 412
• Press Tube 2040
• Tube 60 mm Dia. VW 415 A

Removing

-- Remove the center differential housing. Refer to CENTER DIFFERENTIAL HOUSING, TRANSMISSION INSTALLED .

-- Remove the following: the locking ring from the rear flange shaft -A-, the rear flange shaft and the rear flange shaft seal. Refer to REAR FLANGE SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING .

-- Remove the ball bearing locking ring -B-.

• The shoulder on the VW 415 A -arrow- faces the VW 412.
