Drive Plate With Overload Protection, Removing And Installing

-- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING (A/C Compressor, Removing and Installing, Vehicles with 8-Cylinder FSI Engine).

Remove the drive plate

-- Remove bolts -A-.

NOTE:

Use a commercially available band wrench (with webbed band) to counterhold at drive plate -C-.

Installing drive plate

-- Position drive plate with overload protection -B- onto drive plate -C-.

-- Install the bolts -A- and tighten by hand.

-- Check the drive plate run-out -B-. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, CHECKING RUN-OUT AND ADJUSTING .

-- Tighten the bolts -A- (tightening specification: 10 Nm).

-- Check the drive plate run-out -B- once more. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, CHECKING RUN-OUT AND ADJUSTING .
