Overview - Radiator/Coolant Fan

WARNING:

Danger of personal injury due to the coolant fan turning on by itself.

  • Disconnect the connectors before working near the fan shroud.

Radiator and Coolant Fan

  1. Clamp
  2. Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor on Radiator Outlet -G83-
  3. Air Guide
  4. Coolant Hose
    • Lift the retaining clamp to remove
    • Connecting, refer to Fig 3
  5. O-Ring
    • Replace
  6. Radiator
  7. Coolant Hose
    • Lift the retaining clamp to remove
    • Connecting, refer to Fig 3
  8. O-Ring
    • Replace
  9. Coolant Line
    • To the coolant reservoir
    • To remove, press the release ring
    • Connecting, refer to Fig 3
  10. O-Ring
    • Replace
  11. Rubber Bushing
    • For the radiator
  12. Retaining Pin
    • Disengage and remove using screwdriver
  13. Air Guide
  14. Condenser
  15. Air Guide
  16. Rubber Bushing
    • For the radiator
  17. Radiator Bracket
    • Different versions. For the correct allocation, refer to the Parts .
  18. Bolt
    • 5 Nm
  19. Rubber Buffer
  20. Bolt
    • 4.5 Nm
  21. O-Ring
    • Replace
  22. Coolant Hose
    • Lift the retaining clamp to remove
    • Connect to the radiator, refer to Fig 3
  23. O-Ring
    • Replace

Fan Shroud and Coolant Fan

  1. Coolant Fan 2 -V177-
  2. Coolant Fan -V7-
  3. Fan Shroud
  4. Bolt
    • 3.5 Nm
  5. Fan Wheel
    • The bolt must lock into the hole.
  6. Bolt
    • 5 Nm
  7. Fan Wheel
    • The bolt must lock into the hole.
  8. Bolt
    • 5 Nm
  9. Bolt
    • 3.5 Nm

-- Remove the old O-ring -2- in the coolant hose -3-.

-- Coat the new O-ring with coolant and install it in the coolant hose.

-- Press the coolant hose onto the connection -1- until it engages audibly.

-- Press the coolant hose on again and pull to make sure the connection is engaged correctly.
