Transmission Side Sealing Flange, Removing And Installing, Oil Side Sealing Lip: Installing

To prevent contamination of the lubricating system with sealant residue, place a clean cloth over the open part of the oil pan.

CAUTION:

- Wear protective eyewear.

-- Remove any remaining sealant from the cylinder block -1- using, for example, a rotating plastic brush.

-- Clean any oil and grease off of the sealing surfaces and crankshaft journal.

TIP:

Be sure to check the expiration date of the sealant.

-- Cut the tube nozzle at the front marking (nozzle diameter: approximately 2 mm).

CAUTION:

- Do not apply sealant bead thicker than indicated.

-- Check the :T10122/6A  -B- ; it must not be tilted or contaminated.

-- Mount the :T10122/1  -A- on the :T10122/6A  -B- in direction of -arrow-.

-- Slide the Sealing Flange -- -C- on the Guide Piece -B-, with the outer side on it in direction of -arrow-.

-- Remove Guide Piece -A-.

-- Place the Guide Piece -A- with the Sealing Flange -- -B- on the crankshaft journal.

TIP:

It is not necessary to tighten the bolts -arrows-

-- Slide the Sealing Flange -- -B- through the Guide Piece -A- on the crankshaft journal.

-- Remove the Guide Piece -A-.

-- Tighten the sealing flange.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

-- Install the intermediate plate. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Install the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Check the oil level. Refer to ENGINE OIL .
