Balance Shaft Drive Chain, Removing and Installing: Installing

• Turn the intermediate sprocket and balance shaft to the marking -arrow-.

• Mount the timing chain; the painted links of the timing chain must be positioned on the markings on the chain sprockets.

• Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -4-.
• Install the timing chain guide rail and tighten the bolts -3-.
• Install the timing chain tensioning rail and tighten the bolt -2-.
• Coat the chain tensioner seal -1- with sealant.
• Install the timing chain tensioner -1-.

• Check the setting one more time.
• Check the markings on the intermediate sprocket/balance shaft -arrow-.

Further installation is performed in reverse order of removal, while noting the following:

• Install the camshaft timing chain. Refer to Camshaft Timing Chain, Removing and Installing .
