Overview - Final Drive

Shaft Seal
- For the left flange shaft
- Refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING
Differential
Bolt
- Replacing
- Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2
Shaft Seal
- For the right flange shaft
- Refer to RIGHT SEAL, REPLACING
Right Flange Shaft
- Removing and installing. Refer to RIGHT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Locking Ring
- Replacing
Fill and Check Plug
- 30 Nm
- For the transmission fluid inside the front final drive
- Replacing
Cover
- For the front final drive
- Pay attention to the alignment sleeves
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT SEAL, REPLACING .
- After removing the front final drive cover, prefill. After performing any repairs where the axle oil has been drained, for example after removing the front final driver cover, the front final drive must first be filled with axle oil. Add the oil before installing the transmission so that there is enough time for the oil to even out. Refer to GEAR OIL, DRAINING AND FILLING .

- 10 Nm
Gearshift Lever
Shaft Seal
- For the selector shaft
- Refer to SELECTOR SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING
Transmission
Left Flange Shaft
- Refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Bolt
- 10 Nm +90° turn
- Replacing
Bracket
- For the left flange shaft
- Attached to the left flange shaft with the ball bearing -17- and the circlip -18-
- Check for traces of wear on the bearing bracket and check the pre-tension on the ball bearing for the left flange shaft. Refer to BALL BEARING, PRE-TENSIONING, LEFT FLANGE SHAFT
- Removing and installing. Refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT BALL BEARING MOUNTING BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
Ball Bearing
- For the left flange shaft
- Left Flange Shaft Ball Bearing Pre-Tension, Checking. Refer to BALL BEARING, PRE-TENSIONING, LEFT FLANGE SHAFT
- Refer to LEFT FLANGE SHAFT BALL BEARING MOUNTING BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING
Retainer
- Replacing
Shaft Seal
- For the input shaft
- Refer to INPUT SHAFT SEAL, REPLACING
Dual Mass Flywheel
- Refer to DUAL MASS FLYWHEEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

NOTE:

Replace any bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Tighten the bolts in three steps in the sequence shown:

Step	Bolts	Tightening Specification/Additional Turn
1.	-1 to 10-	3 Nm
2.	-1 to 10-	20 Nm
3.	-1 to 10-	Tighten an additional 90°
