Oil Screen, Removing And Installing: Installing

NOTE:

The ATF strainer seal -A- normally stays in the transmission.

The seal must be removed first to replace the ATF strainer.

The same seal can be used again if the old ATF strainer is also being used again.

Note the Following when Replacing with A New ATF Strainer

NOTE:

Replace the ATF strainer only if it is damaged.

With high mileage vehicles, replace the ATF strainer when the ATF pan is removed.

-- Carefully remove the ATF strainer seal -A- from the transmission with a screwdriver.

NOTE:

Do not damage sealing surface.

The illustration shows seal with the Mechatronic unit removed.

The new ATF strainer comes with the seal installed.

-- Carefully press the intake neck on the new ATF strainer -A- into the opening on the transmission as far as the stop.

NOTE:

When replacing with a new ATF strainer, press it into the transmission with the seal already installed.

-- Install the ATF pan. Refer to OIL PAN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the ATF. Refer to ATF, DRAINING AND FILLING .
