Vacuum Pump, Removing And Installing, 2.7L TDI And 3.0L TDI Diesel Engine: Removing

The vacuum pump is installed on the right cylinder bank -arrow- back in the direction of travel.

-- Remove the engine cover carefully from the retaining pins, one after another.

NOTE:

Because of limited space in the engine compartment, removing the vacuum line from the removed vacuum pump and then connecting it again before installing the pump is recommended.

-- Remove the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

CAUTION:

Do not damage the vacuum hose. Replace the vacuum hose if damaged.

-- Disconnect the vacuum line and vacuum hose behind the plenum chamber bulkhead -2-.

-- Remove the vacuum line -1- from the plenum chamber bulkhead -2-.

-- Remove all the bolts -arrows- on the vacuum pump sealing flange.

-- Remove the vacuum pump from the mount.

-- Remove the vacuum line from the removed vacuum pump.
