Removal [08/2013 - ]

NOTE:

After installing the torsion bar, use your hand to open and close the luggage door. Make sure the luggage door can open and close smoothly.

  1. REMOVE LUGGAGE LOCK CONTROL CABLE PLATE  See step  1
  2. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR INSIDE HANDLE  See step  2
  3. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR ASSIST GRIP  See step  3
  4. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR COVER  See step  4
  5. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FLOOR MAT 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment floor mat.
  6. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD LH (for Full Size Spare Tire) 
    1. Remove the spare wheel cover pad LH.
  7. REMOVE SPARE WHEEL COVER PAD RH (for Full Size Spare Tire) 
    1. Remove the spare wheel cover pad RH.
  8. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for Rear Side) 
    1. Remove the 2 bolts.

    2. Disengage the 2 guides and remove the 2 luggage hold belt striker assemblies.
  9. REMOVE REAR FLOOR FINISH PLATE 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 clips and remove the rear floor finish plate.

  10. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT FRONT TRIM COVER 
    1. Disengage the 8 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment front trim cover.

  11. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for LH Side) 
    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the luggage hold belt striker assembly.
  12. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (for LH Side) 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.

  13. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER LH 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover LH.
  14. REMOVE LUGGAGE HOLD BELT STRIKER ASSEMBLY (for RH Side) 
    1. Remove the bolt.

    2. Disengage the guide and remove the luggage hold belt striker assembly.
  15. REMOVE ROPE HOOK (for RH Side) 
    1. Disengage the 2 claws and remove the rope hook as shown in the illustration.

  16. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH (w/o Power Trunk Lid System) 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 3 clips.

    2. Disengage the 2 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover RH.
  17. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT INNER TRIM COVER RH (w/ Power Trunk Lid System) 
    1. Using a clip remover, remove the 2 clips.

    2. Disengage the 4 fasteners and remove the luggage compartment inner trim cover RH.
  18. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT TRIM COVER ASSEMBLY RH (w/ Power Trunk Lid System)  See step  14
  19. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE COVER LH  See step  12
  20. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR HINGE COVER RH  See step  23
  21. REMOVE LUGGAGE CLOSER MOTOR ASSEMBLY (w/ Power Trunk Lid System)  See step  16
  22. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR LH 
    1. Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

    2. Disengage the 2 claws as shown in the illustration.

    3. Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

    4. Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the luggage door hinge and the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
      • SST: 09804-24010

    5. Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar LH from the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  23. REMOVE LUGGAGE DOOR HINGE TORSION BAR RH 
    1. Put protective tape around the luggage door hinge.

    2. Disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

    3. Using SST, disconnect the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the luggage door hinge and the right side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.
      • SST: 09804-24010

    4. Remove the luggage door hinge torsion bar RH from the left side of the vehicle body as shown in the illustration.

  24. REMOVE LUGGAGE COMPARTMENT DOOR TORSION BAR SUPPORT 
    1. Remove the luggage compartment door torsion bar support as shown in the illustration.

      NOTE:

      Make sure to replace the luggage compartment door torsion bar support with a new one.
