Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415-, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Turn off the ignition and remove the key.

-- Remove the driver side instrument panel cover, refer to DRIVER SIDE INSTRUMENT PANEL COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- On USA vehicles, remove the right impact absorber, refer to DRIVER SIDE FOOTWELL VENT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the center instrument vent, refer to INSTRUMENT PANEL VENTS AND REAR VENTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Insert the Ignition Lock Pliers VAS6339 through the trim doors.

-- Position the tips of the Ignition Lock Pliers VAS6339 on both holes -A arrows- on the Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- -2-.

-- Press the Ignition Lock Pliers VAS6339 together -B arrows- to spread the tips of the pliers and release the trim retaining tabs.

-- Hold the Ignition Lock Pliers VAS6339 pressed with one hand and remove the trim -1- with the other hand -arrow C-.

NOTE:

Only use the Ignition Lock Pliers VAS6339 to release. Remove the trim by hand.

-- Remove the screw -4-.

-- Remove the Access/Start Authorization Switch -E415- -1- from the instrument by pushing inward and removing from the bottom of the instrument panel via the driver footwell.

NOTE:

If necessary, push the wiring harness on the central tube to the side.

-- Disconnect electrical harness connector -2- by sliding retainer -3- up -arrow- and pressing the release inward.
