Overview - Turbocharger

  1. Gasket
    • Replace after removing
  2. Bracket
    • For the turbocharger
  3. Bolt
    • Tighten last to 23 Nm diagonally and in steps
  4. Stud Bolt
    • 10 Nm
    • Replace nuts after each time they are loosened
  5. Gasket
    • Replace after removing.
  6. Turbocharger
  7. Bracket
    • For the connector and engine cover
  8. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
  9. Connection
    • For air guide hose
    • From the Mass Airflow Sensor -G70- to the turbocharger
    • Must be free of oil and grease before installing
  10. O-Ring
    • Replace if damaged or leaking
  11. Hose
    • For the crankcase ventilation
  12. Bolt
    • 9 Nm
  13. Nut
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
    • Replace after removing
    • Coat the thread with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information.
  14. Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor 1 -G235-
  15. Seal
    • Replace after removing
  16. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 3.
    • Replace after removing
  17. Pipe
    • To the Exhaust Gas Recirculation (EGR) pipe cooler
  18. Seal
    • Replace after removing
  19. Nut
    • 23 Nm
    • Replace after removing.
    • Coat the thread with hot bolt paste. Refer to the Parts Information.
  20. Pre-Catalytic Converter
  21. Seal
    • Replace after removing
  22. Bolt
  23. Exhaust Manifold
  24. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
  25. Bolt
    • Tightening specification and sequence. Refer to Fig 2.
  26. Bracket
    • For the turbocharger

NOTE:

Replace stud bolts and nuts.

-- Tighten the bolts and nuts in seven steps in the sequence shown:

Step Bolts/Nuts Tightening Specification
1. Stud bolts for the nuts -1 and 2-. 10 Nm
2. -1 and 2- Install all the way in by hand.
3. -1 and 2- 9 Nm
4. -1 and 2- Tighten an additional 90°
5. -3, 4, and 5- Install all the way in by hand.
6. -3 and 4- 9 Nm
7. -5- 23 Nm
