Rear Final Drive, Additional Work After Replacing: Notes

WARNING:

Rear final drive malfunctions!

The following work must be performed if the rear final drive was replaced.

Bleeding the hydraulic control unit see vehicle diagnostic tester
Adapting the rear final drive to the All Wheel Drive (AWD) control module -J492- see vehicle diagnostic tester.

These additional steps may only be performed if the rear final drive was replaced.

Procedure

-- Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and turn on the ignition.

-- Select 22 - Replace Rear Final Drive in the VAS 5051 under Guided Functions in directory 22 - AWD Electronics

Follow all the instructions in the vehicle diagnostic tester exactly.

Using the vehicle diagnostic tester, "adapt" the new rear final drive to the AWD control module.

NOTE:

A system check takes places after 22 - Replace Rear Final Drive finishes. Use "Guided Fault Finding" to correct any malfunctions that may have been detected.
