Rear Final Drive, Additional Work After Replacing: Notes
WARNING:
Rear final drive malfunctions!
The following work must be performed if the rear final drive was replaced.
- Bleeding the hydraulic control unit see vehicle diagnostic tester
- Adapting the rear final drive to the All Wheel Drive (AWD) control module -J492- see vehicle diagnostic tester.
- These additional steps may only be performed if the rear final drive was replaced.
Procedure
-- Connect the vehicle diagnostic tester and turn on the ignition.
-- Select 22 - Replace Rear Final Drive in the VAS 5051 under Guided Functions in directory 22 - AWD Electronics
- Follow all the instructions in the vehicle diagnostic tester exactly.
Using the vehicle diagnostic tester, "adapt" the new rear final drive to the AWD control module.
NOTE:
A system check takes places after 22 - Replace Rear Final Drive finishes. Use "Guided Fault Finding" to correct any malfunctions that may have been detected.
