Charge Air Cooler Housing, Removing And Installing: Removing
Follow all the rules of cleanliness, refer to CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
-- Remove the front coolant pipe, refer to FRONT COOLANT PIPE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the right and when equipped left air filter housing, refer to AIR FILTER HOUSING, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the Throttle Valve Control Module -J338-, refer to THROTTLE VALVE CONTROL MODULE -J338-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Disconnect the vacuum hose -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -3- and then remove the vacuum reservoir -2-.
Ignore -1-.
-- Loosen the clamp -2- and remove the coolant hose.
Ignore -2-.
-- Disconnect the right, upper coolant hose from the radiator, to do this, lift the retaining clip -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the air guide -1-.
-- Press the release button -3- and loosen the hose clamps -arrows- to remove the secondary air injection hose.
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Free up the secondary air injection hose -1- and press it downward.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -1- and free up the coolant hoses -arrow- and then remove the coolant hoses.
-- Disconnect the connector -3-.
-- Free up the vacuum hoses -arrow-.
-- Loosen the hose clamps -4 and 5- and remove the air guide hoses.
-- Remove the bolts -1, 2 and 6-, pull the charge air cooler housing forward slightly out of the eyes in the eyes and remove it upward.
There is a risk of contamination from leaking engine oil.
- When removing the charge air cooler housing, up to 0.5 liters of engine oil can drain from the oil separator into the area between the cylinder heads. Extract engine oil that has leaked and clean the engine.
