DTC B1507: Open in Turn Signal Circuit; DTC B1508: Short in Turn Signal / Hazard Flasher Circuit [10/2013 - ]: Procedure

  1. INSPECT LIGHTS 
    1. Inspect the illumination of each turn signal light.

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      Turn signal lights for one side do not illuminate. A
      Front turn signal light does not illuminate. B
      Rear turn signal light does not illuminate. C
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate (w/ Seat Position Memory). D
      Side turn signal light does not illuminate (w/o Seat Position Memory). E

    A: Go to next step 

  2. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (COMBINATION METER ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the D8 combination meter assembly connector.
    2. Disconnect the 3A instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-7 (LL) - 3A-20 Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-13 (LR) - 3A-37 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-7 (LL) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      D8-13 (LR) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  3. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      for LH 

      for RH 

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      3A-20 - 3D-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-20 - 3C-22 Always Below 1 Ω
      3A-20 - 3A-40 Always Below 1 Ω

  4. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (HEADLIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the A16*1 or A43*2 headlight assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 3D instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A16-1 - 3D-10 Always Below 1 Ω
      A16-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-1 - 3D-5 Always Below 1 Ω
      A43-3 - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A16-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      A43-1 - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  5. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      for LH

      3A-37 - 3D-5 Always Below 1 Ω

  6. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (REAR COMBINATION LIGHT ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the O9*1 or O13*2 rear combination light assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 3C instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O9-3 (TRN) - 3C-22 Always Below 1 Ω
      O9-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O13-3 (TRN) - 3C-19 Always Below 1 Ω
      O13-4 (E) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      O9-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      O13-3 (TRN) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  7. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

  8. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G12*1 or F10*2 outer mirror control ECU assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 3A*1 or 3B*2 instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G12-11 (TRNI) - 3A-40 Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F10-11 (TRNI) - 3B-32 Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      G12-11 (TRNI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F10-11 (TRNI) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher

    NG → REPAIR OR REPLACE HARNESS OR CONNECTOR 

    OK: Go to next step 

  9. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance

      3A-37 - 3B-32 Always Below 1 Ω

  10. REPLACE OUTER MIRROR CONTROL ECU ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the outer mirror control ECU assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .
    2. Recheck for DTCs. Refer to DTC CHECK / CLEAR [10/2013 - ] .

      Result

      Result Proceed to
      DTCs are not output. A
      DTCs are output. B

  11. CHECK HARNESS AND CONNECTOR (OUTER REAR VIEW MIRROR ASSEMBLY - INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY) 
    1. Disconnect the G9*1 or F7*2 headlight assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    2. Disconnect the 3A*1 or 3B*2 instrument panel junction block assembly connector.
      • *1: for LH
      • *2: for RH
    3. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.

      Standard Resistance (Check for Open)

      FOR LH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      G9-4 (B) - 3A-40 Always Below 1 Ω
      G9-5 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω
      FOR RH

      Tester Connection Condition Specified Condition
      F7-4 (B) - 3B-32 Always Below 1 Ω
      F7-5 (-) - Body ground Always Below 1 Ω

      Standard Resistance (Check for Short)

      FOR LH

      G9-4 (B) - Body ground Always 10 kΩ or higher
      FOR RH

  12. INSPECT INSTRUMENT PANEL JUNCTION BLOCK ASSEMBLY 
    1. Remove the main body ECU (multiplex network body ECU) from the instrument panel junction block assembly. Refer to REMOVAL [10/2013 - ] .

    2. Measure the resistance according to the value(s) in the table below.
