Rear Side Airbag With Igniter, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

-- Turn on the ignition.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .

-- Remove the bench seat. Refer to SEAT BENCH/SINGLE SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

-- Fold the rear seat backrest forward.

-- Hold the belt -1- to the side and remove the side airbag -2- -arrow-.

-- Pull the side airbag downward and remove it from the belt guide.

WARNING:

Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". This can be done by touching the door striker, for example.

-- Remove the side airbag far enough until the is it possible to disconnect the side airbag electrical connector.

-- Push connector lock -2- to stop -arrow- ; this disconnects electrical connection -1- and -3- and it can be removed.
