Overview - Clutch Module

NOTE:

Clutch module -2- servicing. Refer to CLUTCH MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

  1. A - Alignment Pins
    • Not on all vehicles
    • The alignment pins -A- (if equipped) must lock in the hole -B- when attaching the clutch module -2- to the drive plate -1-.
  2. B - Alignment Bore
    • The alignment pins -A- (if equipped) must lock in the hole -B- when attaching the clutch module -2- to the drive plate -1-.
      CAUTION:

      The clutch will not function properly if it is not installed correctly.

      • The clutch may have noticeable function problems if the alignment pins for the drive plate -A- are not inside the hole in the clutch module -B-.
  3. 1 - Drive Plate (see Fig 1)
    • On 4-cylinder engines - 3 holes with threaded sleeves
    • With 6- and 8-cylinder engines - 6 holes with threaded sleeves
    • With needle bearing
    • Removing and installing. Refer to NEEDLE BEARING IN DRIVE PLATE, REPLACING for 3.0L, engine codes CCBA, CGXC, CTUB
  4. 2 - Clutch Module (see Fig 1)
  5. 3 - Bolt (see Fig 1)
