Clutch Master Cylinder, Removing And Installing: Installing

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

-- Attach the connector -5-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder -1-.

-- Install the clutch master cylinder into the footwell in the direction of -arrow A-. When doing this, lock it in direction of -arrow B- using the Wrench - Ring 3355.

NOTE:

Ignore -1, 2 and 3- and -arrow A-.

-- Install the mounting pins -4-. The shoulder on the pin -arrow B- must be guided into the groove in the clutch pedal.

NOTE:

Replace the O-ring on the hose/line assembly -4- if damaged.

-- Install the over-center spring. Refer to INSTALLING THE OVER-CENTER SPRING .

-- Push the clip -3- all the way in.

-- Push hose/line assembly -4- into clutch master cylinder until the line audibly engages.

-- Pull on the hose/line assembly to make sure it is secure.

-- Install the return hose -2-.

-- Remove the Hose Clamps - Up To 25 mm 3094.

-- Bleed the clutch system. Refer to CLUTCH MECHANISM, BLEEDING .

-- Installing the engine compartment E-box. Refer to E-BOX, REMOVING AND INSTALLING , also see WIRING HARNESS REPAIR SET (Release Tool Set VAS1978/35) .

-- Install the plenum chamber cover. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Complete the steps after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY, DISCONNECTING AND CONNECTING .
