Drive Plate With Overload Protection, Checking Run-Out And Adjusting: Procedure

-- Remove the A/C compressor. Refer to A/C COMPRESSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, 8-CYLINDER FSI/TFSI ENGINE .

-- Clean the drive plate flange -A-.

-- Secure the gauge -B- to the A/C compressor with the Dial Gauge Holder:VW387  -C-.

-- Attach the dial gauge probe -D- to the drive plate flange with a pre-tensioning of approximately 1.0 mm and set the gauge to "0".

-- Turn the A/C compressor drive unit -E- a few turns.

-- If the run-out deviation is greater than 0.2 mm, repeat the adjustment for the drive plate. Refer to DRIVE PLATE WITH OVERLOAD PROTECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
