Overview - Heater And A/C Unit Air Intake Housing

- Foam Seal
- Replace if damaged
- Air Intake Duct
- With back pressure/fresh air and recirculation door
- Do not dismantle
- Removing and Installing. Refer to AIR INTAKE DUCT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Connecting Element
- Between the Recirculation Door Motor -V113- and the recirculation door
- Do not dismantle
- Lightly coat the bearing area with lubricant. Refer to the Parts information.
- Recirculation Door Motor -V113-
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Recirculation Door Motor -V113-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Connecting Element
- Between the Airflow Door Motor -V71- and the back pressure/fresh air door.
- Do not dismantle
- Lightly coat the bearing area with lubricant. Refer to the Parts information.
- Airflow Door Motor -V71-
- Removing and Installing. Refer to Airflow Door Motor -V71-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Bolt
- Tightening specification:
- For the adjustment motor: 1 Nm
- For the air intake duct: 1 Nm
- For the air intake manifold: 1 Nm
- Tightening specification:
- Acoustic Cover
- Bracket
- Air Intake Manifold
- Do not dismantle
- Removing and Installing. Refer to AIR INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Foam Seal
- Replace if damaged
- Glued onto the air intake duct to seal the connection point between the air intake duct and the Air Conditioning (A/C) unit
- Attaching PointNOTE:
The air intake housing can be attached additionally with the bolts -7- as needed.
- Air Intake Manifold Retainer
- Between the upper and lower sectionNOTE:
If the retainer no longer holds, the upper and lower section of the air intake housing can be bolted to one another at the attaching points -12-.

- Dust and Pollen Filter
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts information.
- Notes on the version with activated charcoal element. Refer to DUST AND POLLEN FILTER WITH ACTIVATED CHARCOAL INSERT, INFORMATION .
- Follow the replacement intervals. Refer to Maintenance Tables.
- Removing and Installing. Refer to DUST AND POLLEN FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Dust and Pollen Filter Shaft CoverNOTE:
Depending on the version, the cover housing may contain foam strips attached to it (for insulation in the room between the cover -item 18- OVERVIEW - HEATER AND A/C UNIT AIR INTAKE HOUSING). Refer to DUST AND POLLEN FILTER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
- Fresh Air Blower -V2-
- With Fresh Air Blower Control Module -J126-
- There are different versions. Refer to the Parts information.
- To check, use the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function
