Tightening Specifications
Risk of damaging the adjustment motor.
- Do not turn the mount for the adjustment motor by hand if the connector is not connected - the adjustment motor electronics can be damaged.
- To turn the mount in the adjustment motor (only if the connector is connected), carefully and slowly turn the mount by hand in the adjustment motor.
-- The mount -E- for the adjustment motor -C- can only be installed in one position on the control lever -D-.
- The actuator mount must be opposite the actuating arm as shown in the illustration.
Turn the mount in the adjustment motor if the mount and the control lever are not opposite each other. Note the general information. Refer to GENERAL INFORMATION FOR ADJUSTMENT MOTORS .
-- Connect the connector -A-.
-- Attach the adjustment motor to the air distribution housing so that the control lever reaches into the mount.
- There must not be any play in the connection between the actuator and the actuating arm.
-- Tighten the bolts -B- to the tightening specification.
-- Install the wiring harness -F- so that it cannot come in contact with any moving parts (for example, the lever on the motor).
After completing the repair work, perform the following operations on the control head using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester in the "Guided Fault Finding" function:
-- Check the Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) memory and delete any currently displayed entries.
-- Perform the basic setting.
-- Perform output Diagnostic Test Mode (DTM).
