Front Coolant Pipe, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Drain the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING .

-- Remove the engine cover. Refer to ENGINE COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

WARNING:

Fire hazards and risk of damage for a faulty engine cover.

  • The engine cover must be always be installed before the hood is closed.
  • The engine may neither be started nor driven without an engine cover.

-- Remove the lock carrier cover. Refer to ATTACHMENTS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and the air guide -2-.

NOTE:

The illustration shows the Installed position on an Audi S6/S7.

Ignore item -1 and arrow-.

-- Loosen the clamps -1- and remove the coolant hoses.

Ignore -arrow-

-- Loosen the hose clamps -arrows- and press the release button -1- to remove the secondary air injection pipe.

-- Free up the wiring harness.

-- Remove the bolt -3-, then remove the front coolant pipe -2- from the left cylinder head and from the right cylinder head -1-.
