Tightening Specifications

-- Tighten the steering intermediate shaft on the steering gear. Refer to STEERING COLUMN, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Connections and routing. Refer to the appropriate WIRING DIAGRAM

-- Attach the drive axles to the transmission. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .

-- Install the drive axle heat shield. Refer to DRIVE AXLE .

-- Install the heat shield on the subframe. Refer to SUBFRAME .

-- Install the subframe crossbrace. Refer to SUBFRAME .

-- Install the plenum chamber bulkhead. Refer to PLENUM CHAMBER BULKHEAD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Fill the coolant. Refer to COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING [For engine(s) CYNB] or COOLANT, DRAINING AND FILLING [For engine(s) CPNB] .

-- Install the drive axle covers and noise insulation. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Complete the steps required after connecting the battery. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Check and adjust the selector lever cable. Refer to SELECTOR LEVER CABLE, ADJUSTING .

-- Check the MTF level and correct if necessary. Refer to TRANSMISSION FLUID .

-- Check the ATF level and correct if necessary. Refer to ATF LEVEL, CHECKING .

NOTE:

If a new factory transmission is installed, an ATF/MTF level test is not necessary.

If the transmission is replaced, the "Replace control module" function must be performed using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester.
