Transmission Fluid Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing

NOTE:
Follow the general repair instructions. Refer to REPAIR INFORMATION .
Follow the guidelines for clean working conditions. Refer to GUIDELINES FOR CLEAN WORKING CONDITIONS .
- Move vehicle onto a four-pillar shop hoist or over a work pit so that it is absolutely horizontal for the refilling.
-- Remove the rear noise insulation. Refer to UNDERBODY TRIM PANELS, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Place the :SMN372500 underneath.
WARNING:
Danger of eye injury.
- Wear protective eyewear.
CAUTION:
Risk of electrical corrosion.
- There must not be any transmission fluid (MTF) in the connector area.
- Disconnect the connector -2- only after the transmission fluid drains.
NOTE:
When removing the oil pump, the transmission drains abruptly.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then remove the oil pump -1-.
-- After draining the transmission fluid, disconnect the connector -2-.
CAUTION:
Danger of causing damage to the transmission.
Without any or with too little manual transmission fluid inside the transmission:
- Do not start the engine.
- Do not tow the vehicle.
