Overview - Selector Mechanism: Notes

Selector Mechanism 

WARNING:

There is a risk of injury and accident from accidentally engaging a gear when the engine is running.

  • Before work is done with the engine running, move the selector lever into "P" and press the parking brake button to engage the electromechanical parking brake.

  1. O-Ring
    • Replace after removing
  2. Selector Lever Cable
  3. Bolt
    • For selector lever cable adjustment
    • Tightening specification, refer to -item  6-.
  4. Transmission Park Selector Switch -F305-
  5. Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
  6. Cap
    • Via the Shift Lock Solenoid -N110-
  7. Selector Lever Sensor System Control Module -J587- with Tiptronic Switch -F189-
  8. Nut
    • 8 Nm
    • Quantity: 4
    • For securing the shift mechanism to the body
  9. Seal
  10. Selector Mechanism
    • Can only be replaced as a unit
    • Removing and installing. Refer to SELECTOR MECHANISM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
      • Perform "Guided Functions"  using the Vehicle Diagnostic Tester after removing and installing the selector mechanism.
  11. Clip
    • For selector lever cable
  12. Noise Insulation
    • Not equipped on all vehicles
    • Allocation. Refer to the parts information.
  13. Lock Washers
    • For the noise insulation
    • Quantity: 4
    • Replace after removing
