High Pressure Pump, Removing And Installing: Removing
-- Remove the intake manifold, refer to INTAKE MANIFOLD, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the turbocharger, refer to TURBOCHARGER .
-- Remove the engine oil cooler, refer to ENGINE OIL COOLER .
-- Remove the coolant shut-off valve, refer to Coolant Shut-Off Valve -N82-, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and then tilt the turbocharger bracket -1- to the side.
-- Remove the rear noise insulation -1-, refer to NOISE INSULATION .
-- Insert the Crankshaft Socket :T40058 guide pins as follows:
- The large diameter -arrow 1- faces the engine.
- The small diameter -arrow 2- faces the adapter.
Components could be destroyed by the camshaft timing chains jump off.
- Turn crankshaft only in direction of engine rotation -arrow-.
-- Turn the crankshaft to "Top Dead Center (TDC)" using the Crankshaft Socket :T40058 .
-- Remove the bolt -arrow- for the "TDC" marking from the oil pan upper section.
-- Install the Locking Pin For Crankshaft :T40237 in the hole and tighten to 20 Nm. Rotate the crankshaft -1- back and forth slightly to center the pin completely, if necessary.
-- Lock the high pressure pump chain sprocket with the Locking Pin :T40245 .
Danger of malfunction caused by dirt.
- Observe, refer to FUEL SYSTEM SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
-- Remove the union nuts -arrows- and then remove the right high pressure line -1-.
-- Remove the union nuts -arrows- and then remove the left high pressure line -1-.
-- Seal off all open lines and connections with clean plugs.
-- Disconnect the connector -2-.
-- Open the clamps -3 and 4- and remove the fuel hoses.
Place a clean cloth under the separating point to catch the escaping fuel.
Ignore item -1-.
-- Remove the bolts -arrows- and remove the high pressure pump.
