Pistons, Removing And Installing: Installing

Install in reverse order of removal. Note the following:

NOTE:

Replace the bolts that were tightened with an additional turn.

-- Coat the contact surfaces on the bearing shells with oil.

-- Install the piston using a commercially available piston ring compressor.

Installed position:

Piston. Refer to appropriate service information. .
Connecting rod. Refer to appropriate service information. .

-- Install the connecting rod bearing cap according to the marking.

-- Install the oil pan upper section. Refer to OIL PAN UPPER SECTION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Install the cylinder head. Refer to CYLINDER HEAD REMOVING, VEHICLES WITH A TURBOCHARGER .
