Special tools and equipment
- Plastigage
Work sequence
- Remove connecting rod bearing caps. Clean bearing caps and journals.
- Place Plastigage over entire width of bearing journal or into bearing shells.
- Install connecting rod bearing caps and tighten to 30 Nm. DO NOT turn crankshaft.
- Remove connecting rod bearing caps again.
- Compare width of Plastigage with calibrated scale.
