Selector shaft with selector cylinder, removing and installing

Removing 

• Remove bolts - arrows  - and remove selector shaft cover - B  -.

Fig 4: Pulling Out Both Selector Shaft Locking Bushes Using Multi-Purpose Tool VW 771/1 And Puller T40050

• Pull out both selector shaft locking bushes (- item A  - in Fig 3) using multi-purpose tool VW 771/1 and puller T40050.

• Make sure that no gear has been engaged.

• Push selector shaft - A  - into transmission as far as it will go, simultaneously removing pin - B  -.
• Pull out selector shaft.

Installing

Installation is performed in reverse sequence; note the following:

• Push assembly sleeve 01E 311 120  - A  - onto selector shaft - B  -.
• Install complete selector shaft.

• Installation position: Chamfer of selector shaft points downwards.

• Push selector shaft - A  - into transmission as far as it will go, simultaneously inserting pin - B  -.

• Installation position of pin - B  - : lug on pin points in direction of transmission housing.

• Fit cover - B  - and tighten bolts - arrows  -.

• Drive in selector shaft locking bushes onto stop.

Tightening torque
