Section 165 (Engine Cooling System (H4DO)): Thermostat: Removal

Disconnect the ground cable from battery.

Lift up the vehicle.
Remove the under cover. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Under Cover. >
Drain engine coolant. < Ref. to DRAINING OF ENGINE COOLANT , REPLACEMENT, Engine Coolant. >
Remove the front exhaust pipe. < Ref. to REMOVAL , Front Exhaust Pipe. >
Disconnect the radiator outlet hose from thermostat cover.

Remove the thermostat cover, and then remove the gasket and thermostat.
