Hydraulic System, Filling And Bleeding: Notes

NOTE:

The electro-hydraulic convertible top operation involves a closed hydraulic system. Generally, filling is necessary after a loss of oil (accident, leaks, etc.).

Before opening the hydraulic system, open the filler plug on the fluid reservoir to even out the pressure in the system and then close it again to the tightening specification.

The hydraulic system must be filled when the convertible top is closed due to the lift and displacement effects in the hydraulic cylinders.

CAUTION:

Risk of damage.

  • Do not fill the hydraulic fluid reservoir above the "MAX" marking as the pressure in the system can become so great that damage can result.
