Convertible Top Latch Motor, Removing And Installing: Removing

-- Remove the front trim panel. Refer to FRONT TRIM PANEL, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bolts -1- from the retaining strip -2- for the convertible top cover/convertible top headliner -arrows-.

-- Remove the retaining strip -1- to the side -arrow- from the convertible top cover/convertible top headliner.

-- Disconnect the central connector.

-- Lift the securing tabs to remove the bracket -2- for the Convertible Top Left Lock Switch -F169- / Convertible Top Latch -Open- Switch -F294- -1- from the convertible top lock -3-.

-- Release the locking spring -1- and remove the lock rod from the ball pin on the convertible top latch drive motor -3-.

-- Remove the bolts -2- while, at the same time, counterholding the nut by hand between the front rail and the convertible top cover.

NOTE:

If the nut is not counterheld, it will fall out of the mount.

-- Remove the convertible top latch drive motor and free up the wiring harness from the front rail.
