-- Remove the rear lid. Refer to REAR LID, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Lift the locking spring -2- using a small screwdriver -1- and disengage the hinge on the gas-filled strut -arrow-. Now remove the gas-filled strut -3- from the ball stud.

-- Remove the bolts -2 through 4-.
