Passenger Seat Occupant Detection Sensor -G128-, Removing And Installing: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Switch the ignition on.

-- Disconnect the battery ground cable with the ignition turned on. Refer to BATTERY .

-- Remove the front seat on the passenger side:

Standard seat and sport seat (manual). Refer to FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, MANUAL .
Standard and Power Sport Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to POWER FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the cover from the cushion (seat pan). Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, SEPARATING, SEAT PAN WITHOUT SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTER .

NOTE:

Remove the cushion from the rear part of the cover until the passenger occupant detection sensor is freed up.

Standard Seat and Sport Seat (Manual or Power):

-- Disconnect the passenger occupant detection sensor connector.

-- Carefully lift the seat heating element, if applicable.

-- Carefully remove the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- including the circuit board -4- from the seat cushion -1-.

Comfort Seat:

-- Carefully warm the seat heating element -1- on the left side using the :VAS1978/14A .

-- Remove the seat heating element -2- -arrow- only until the passenger occupant detection sensor -1- is freed up.

-- Disconnect the passenger occupant detection sensor connector.

-- Carefully remove the passenger occupant detection sensor -4- including the circuit board -3- from the seat cushion -1-.

Super Sport Seat:

-- Disconnect the passenger occupant detection sensor connector.

-- Carefully remove the passenger occupant detection sensor -2- including the circuit board -4- from the seat cushion -1-.
