Seat Pan, Disassembling And Assembling, Upper Frame: Removing

WARNING:

Follow all safety precautions when working with pyrotechnic components. Refer to SAFETY PRECAUTIONS .
Before handling pyrotechnic components (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

CAUTION:

Move the front seat as high up as possible. This reduces the spring force when removing and installing the torsion bar and the risk of damaging the threaded connections between the seat pan upper and lower frames.

-- Remove The Front Seat:

Standard and Power Sport Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to POWER FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT .

-- Remove the cushion from the seat pan:

Power Standard Seat and Comfort Seat. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SEAT PAN WITHOUT SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTER .
Power Sport seat and Super Sport seat. Refer to SEAT PAN COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, SEAT PAN WITH SEAT DEPTH ADJUSTER .

-- Disconnect The Connector On The Seat Forward/Back Adjustment Motor.

-- Disconnect the front seat belt latch connector. Refer to Removing => Disconnect the connector -2- and free up the wire. .

-- Remove the seat position sensor from the lower frame. Refer to SEAT POSITION SENSOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, EQUIPMENT WITH PASSENGER OCCUPANT DETECTION SENSOR FOR BELT FASTENING DETECTION .

-- Remove the bolt -3-.

CAUTION:

Danger Of Damaging The Threaded Holes Or The Bushings In The Bearing Points (Connecting The Upper And Lower Frame).

To Remove The Bolts Mentioned In The Following, A Second Technician Must Be Pushing Down Slightly On The Seat Backrest.

-- Remove the bolts -2- (quantity: 4).

-- Remove the upper frame -1- upward from the lower frame -4-.

-- Be careful of the bushings -1- in the bearing locations on the seat pan lower frame -2-.

CAUTION:

The Bushings Cannot Be Replaced With Workshop Materials.
If The Bushings Are Damaged, The Corresponding Assembly Parts Must Be Replaced.

NOTE:

If The Upper Frame Will Be Replaced, Remove The Wires And Electrical And Electronic Components Listed And Install Them In The New Upper Frame.

-- Remove the memory seat/steering column adjustment control module. Refer to MEMORY SEAT/STEERING COLUMN ADJUSTMENT CONTROL MODULE, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the bracket and control module. Refer to MEMORY SEAT/STEERING COLUMN ADJUSTMENT CONTROL MODULE BRACKET, REMOVING AND INSTALLING

-- Remove the seat height adjustment motor. Refer to SEAT HEIGHT ADJUSTMENT MOTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the seat height angle motor. Refer to SEAT ANGLE ADJUSTMENT MOTOR, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the wiring harnesses and individual wires from the seat pan upper frame.
