Backrest Release Cable, Removing And Installing, Bucket Seat: Removing

-- Remove the backrest. Refer to FRONT BACKREST, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to OVERVIEW - BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Unscrew the screws -arrows- at the cover.

-- Remove the cover -1-.

-- Turn the cover and release the tabs -arrows-.

-- Remove the cover -1-.

-- Remove the cable bracket -3- for the backrest release cables on the cover.

-- Remove the release lever -2-.

-- Disengage the release cables -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Repeat the steps on the opposite side.

-- Remove the backrest cover and backrest frame. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, BUCKET SEAT .

-- Remove the bolts -3 and 4-.

WARNING:

Risk Of Eye Injury.

Wear Protective Eyewear!

-- Drill out the pop rivet -2- with a 6.0 mm drill in the backrest frame mount -1-.

-- Tip the backrest frame mount to the side and remove the cable bracket -2- for the release cables on the backrest frame mount -3-.

-- Disengage the release cable eye -1- on the release lever -4- by sliding the eye forward -arrow- and then remove.

-- Remove the release cables upward out of the backrest frame.
