Backrest Adjustment Motor And Shift Unit, Removing And Installing: Removing

Before handling the airbag units (for example, disconnecting the connector), the person handling it must "discharge static electricity". For example, this can be done by briefly touching the door striker.

-- Remove The Front Seat:

Standard and Power Sport Seat, Comfort Seat and Super Sport Seat. Refer to POWER FRONT SEAT, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Attach the front seat to the :VAS6136 . Refer to FRONT SEAT, MOUNTING ON FIXTURE FOR SEAT REPAIR .

-- Remove the tunnel-side trim. Refer to TUNNEL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD SEAT, SPORT SEAT, SUPER SPORT SEAT .

-- Remove the sill-side trim. Refer to SILL-SIDE TRIM, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, POWER STANDARD SEAT, WITH OR WITHOUT MEMORY FUNCTION .

-- Remove the backrest cover. Refer to BACKREST COVER, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, TWO PIECE .

-- Mark the angle adjustment of the left and right backrest hinges on the seat as follows:

-- Make a permanent mark (line) -arrow A- on the backrest frame -2- right at the front edge -arrow B- of the hinge -1-.

CAUTION:

Do Not Damage The Hinge Surface When Marking It By Scratching Or Denting It.
Do Not Remove The Cover -4- Under Any Circumstances.

-- Remove the nut -5- from the shaft -3-.

-- Remove the backrest frame near the backrest hinge. Refer to BACKREST COVER AND CUSHION, REMOVING AND INSTALLING, STANDARD/SPORT SEAT .

NOTE:

The Switch Unit Must Be Removed To Remove The Backrest Adjustment Motor -7- But It Does Not Need To Be Replaced.

-- Remove the switch unit. Refer to BACKREST LOCK SWITCH MICROSWITCH, REMOVING AND INSTALLING .

-- Remove the shaft -3- from the backrest frame -1- in the direction of the -arrow-.

-- Disconnect the connector -6- on the backrest adjustment motor.

-- Remove the bolt -2-.

-- Remove the bracket adjustment motor -7- from the bracket -5-.
