Clean Working Conditions

CAUTION:
Paint damage.
- Hydraulic oil damages paint.
- Wipe up any hydraulic fluid that leaks onto painted surfaces.
Even very small particles of dirt can cause a fault. Follow the rules of cleanliness when working on the hydraulic system:
- Thoroughly clean the connecting points and the surrounding area before loosening.
- Before opening the hydraulic system, open the filler plug on the fluid reservoir to even out the pressure in the system and then close it again to the tightening specification.
- Always check the fluid level and add more fluid if necessary whenever work was performed on the hydraulic system.
- Seal off any open lines and connections immediately with plugs, for example, take from Engine Bung Set:VAS6122 .
- Place the removed parts on a clean surface and cover them. Use foil and paper. Only use lint-free cloths!
- Carefully cover or seal opened components if the repair will not be done immediately.
- Install only clean parts: remove the replacement parts from their packaging just before installing them.
- Place collecting container or foil and cloths under connections to be opened so that hydraulic fluid does not come into contact with painted surfaces.
- If the system is open: do not work with compressed air. Do not move vehicle unless absolutely necessary.
- Protect any disconnected connectors from dirt and moisture and connect them only when they are completely dry.
