Overview - Seatbelt System
Each seatbelt is a combination lap and shoulder belt (continuous loop), 3-point system. The continuous loop uses a common slip tongue and retractor.
Seatbelt Tension Reducer
The seatbelt tension reducer reduces seatbelt webbing pressure on the driver's and front passenger's shoulder for comfort. The seatbelt tension reducer solenoid is integral to the driver and front passenger seatbelt retractor and pretensioner and is installed new as an assembly.
Vehicles with Rear Inflatable Seatbelts
Deployed Inflatable Seatbelt
On vehicles with second row inflatable seatbelts, each rear outboard seating position has a 3-point system which consists of a lower lap belt and retractor and an upper shoulder belt and retractor. The two are joined together at the seatbelt tongue and can be separated and serviced separately. The buckle tongue is unique to the inflatable seatbelt system and is part of the upper shoulder belt and retractor.
