Rear Bumper Cover: Removal

  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to: Jacking and Lifting .
  2. On both sides. Remove the rivet blinds and the screw.

  3. Disconnect the rear bumper cover electrical connector.

  4. On both sides. Release the clips and remove the rear lamp cover assembly.

  5. With the help of an assistant. Remove the rear bumper cover.

    1. Remove the screws.

      Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)

    2. Release the sides of the rear bumper cover from the reinforcement assembly cover mountings.
    3. Release the tabs, lift the rear bumper cover up and remove the rear bumper cover.

  6. Remove the screws, detach the retainer and remove the rear bumper isolator.

    Torque: 35 lb.in (4 Nm)

  7. On both sides. Inspect the rear bumper reinforcement assembly cover mountings.

  8. If required, on both sides. Remove the screws and the rear bumper reinforcement assembly cover mountings.

    Torque: 13 lb.in (1.5 Nm)
