Passive Key
WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.
The passive key incorporates both the PATS functions and the RKE transmitter functions in a single device.
During key programming procedures, the PATS and RKE transmitter Identification (ID) of a passive key are both programmed. A maximum of 4 passive keys can be programmed.
In the event the passive key battery fails:
- a key blade within the passive key can be used to unlock the door manually.
- the passive key must be placed in the backup slot to start the vehicle.
