Front Seat Power Lumbar Assembly - Vehicles Without: Multi-Contour Seats: Removal

NOTE: Driver seat shown, passenger seat similar.
  1. Remove the front seat. Refer to: Front Seat .
  2. Release the back panel straps from the seat track.

  3. If equipped with video display. Remove the video display. Refer to: Video Display .

    Seats with power head restraint 

  4. NOTE: The back panel finish can be easily marred or torn, use care when working around it.

    Raise and partially separate the head restraint rear cover enough to disengage the clips from the back panel. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover.

  5. On both sides, grasp the back panel where it meets the module trim, pull to release the clips and separate the back panel from the module trim.

  6. On both sides, using the interior trim remover, place it in between the plastic substrate and the clip, pry and detach the module clips from the back panel windows. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover.
  7. Pull out at the bottom, release the clips and detach the back panel from the backrest frame.

  8. Pull out at the sides of the back panel.

  9. Pull down and out and remove the back panel.

    Seats with manual head restraint 

  10. NOTE: The back panel finish can be easily marred or torn, use care when working around it.

    On both sides, grasp the back panel where it meets the module trim, pull to release the clips and separate the back panel from the module trim.

  12. Pull out at the bottom, release the clips and detach the back panel from the backrest frame.

  13. Pull out at the sides of the back panel.

    All vehicles 

    1. If equipped with climate control seats. Detach the front seat backrest blower motor electrical connector.
    2. Detach the front seat backrest heater mat electrical connector.
    3. Disconnect the front seat power lumbar assembly electrical connector.
    4. Remove the tape from the front seat power lumbar assembly J-hooks.

  15. Remove the front seat power lumbar assembly.

    • Detach the front seat power lumbar assembly cable.

    • Detach the front seat power lumbar assembly J-hooks.
