Front Seat Backrest Cover: Removal

Depower the SRS. Refer to: Supplemental Restraint System (SRS) Depowering .
1. On both sides.Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover.
2. On both sides.Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover.
3. Fold the upper portion of the front seat backrest.

Disconnect the front seat backrest heater mat electrical connector.

If equipped with heated/ventilated seats.Remove the front seat backrest blower motor.
1. Disconnect the electrical connector.
2. Rotate the front seat backrest blower motor 45 degrees clockwise to unlock from the seat backrest carrier and remove.

NOTE: After disconnecting the hose and lock assemblies, verify the black O-ring and white spacer remains with each hose.

NOTE: When connecting the hose and lock assemblies, an audible click must be heard for correct installation.

If equipped with multi-contoured seats.Release the locking tab and disconnect the hose and lock assembly from the SCMG.

Remove the front seat backrest cover assembly.
1. Detach the front seat backrest assembly from the backrest module retainers.Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover
2. On both sides, position the front backrest assembly to release the retainers.
3. Slide the front seat backrest cover assembly up to release the retainers.

If equipped with heated/ventilated seats.Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.
1. Release the tabs.
2. Detach the front seat backrest carrier from the vent bag.

Detach the front seat backrest cover J-clips.

Release the front seat backrest cover tabs.

Release the hook-and-arrows and remove the front seat backrest cover carrier.

NOTE: Use care when separating the backrest cover from the hook-and-loop strips or the hook-and-loop strips may be torn from the backrest foam.

NOTE: This step is only necessary when installing a new component.

Remove the front seat backrest cover.
1. Invert the front seat backrest cover.
2. Release the hook-and-loop strips.
