Power Running Board (PRB) Motor: Removal

NOTE: The power running board motor and drive bracket are serviced as an assembly.
  1. With the vehicle in NEUTRAL, position it on a hoist. Refer to:Jacking And Lifting .
  2. NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.

    • Disconnect the PRB motor electrical connector.

    • Disconnect the PRB lamp electrical connector.

    • Detach the retainer and position aside the harness.

  3. Disconnect the PRB lamp harness retainers and position aside the harness.

    Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

  4. NOTE: LH side shown, RH side similar.
    NOTE: Support the running board with a jackstand.

    1. Disconnect the electrical connection.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. Remove the running board mounting screws.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    1. Remove the torque rod mounting screw.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. Remove the hinge mounting nuts.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    1. Disengage the motor drive shaft from the torque rod.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)

    2. Remove the motor and bracket assembly.

      Torque: 133 lb.in (15 Nm)
