C-Pillar Trim Panel: Removal

  1. Position the rear door weatherstrip aside.

    Vehicles without Inflatable Seatbelts

  3. NOTE: Long wheelbase shown, short wheelbase similar.

    Release the clips and remove the rear door scuff plate trim panel.

  4. Release the tabs and remove the second row seatbelt anchor cover. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  5. Remove the anchor nut and position the second row outer seatbelt retractor aside.

    Torque

    : 30 lb.ft (40 Nm)

    Vehicles with Inflatable Seatbelts 

  6. NOTE: Follow the unique instructions or graphic for this step in installation.

    Open the seatbelt tongue cover.

    1. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover to one side, lift and disengage that side of the cover.
    2. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover to one side, lift and disengage that side of the cover.
    3. Push the seatbelt tongue lower cover forward to disengage and open the cover.

    Disassemble the lap belt from the seatbelt tongue.

    1. Push down on the lap belt spring clip.
    2. Remove the pin.
    3. Pull the lap belt through the seatbelt tongue cover.

    All vehicles 

  8. Position the second row outer seatbelt retractor guide cover down on the seatbelt. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover

  9. Release the lower and the middle C-pillar trim panel clips. Use the General Equipment: Interior Trim Remover.

  10. NOTE: The C-pillar trim panel must be positioned downward to allow the upper clips to release correctly. Failure to follow this direction may cause damage to the C-pillar trim panel.

    Slide the C-pillar trim panel down, aligning the clips to the slots in the sheet metal.

  11. Remove the C-pillar trim panel while feeding the second row outer seatbelt retractor through the opening.
