ACM Speaker Output

WARNING: This page is about a different car, the 2018 Lincoln Navigator. However, it is still accessible from the selected car via links, so may be relevant.

The ACM can be configured to directly power vehicle speakers. An amplifier in the final stage of the ACM sends an analog AC signal to drive the speakers. Output may include stereo and center channels. If equipped with a DSP (Bang & Olufsen system), the ACM may power none, or only a portion, of the vehicle speakers.

A speaker circuit short to ground or power can be detected by the ACM. If a speaker circuit issue is detected, the ACM may disable speakers to prevent damage to the internal amplifier. A DTC sets to identify which speaker circuits are causing the issue.
